I wrote about Dark In Europe ages ago and just revisited their myspace recently, which has been updated with several “rough” and “demo” versions of his songs. His sound is rich and full despite the lower end quality of his recordings. But just as Ghost Animal has shown us, if you have enough heart, and just some good plain pop sensibilities, you can use that sound to your advantage. Heart and talent will most always shine through any type of recording.
I spoke with Dylan who is Dark In Europe, and he is in the throes of re-recording a lot of this material so that he can put the tracks in peoples hands, on their iPods, and fill both ears and all the space in between. Go check out his myspace, and dig on the jams he’s got up like Impala Tropic and Stadia.
